Virtual Field Trip List

Virtual field trips can take students around the world.

According to Kim Foley, author of "The Big Pocket Guide to Using and Creating Virtual Field Trips," a virtual field trip is a collection of web pages (often chosen by educators) arranged in a guided tour that is accessed via the Internet. Educators stress the importance of choosing virtual field trips carefully and connecting them to curricula. Virtual field trips allow students to see and hear things outside the classroom without the logistics and expense of real field trips. Local school systems and state education departments sometimes provide tools allowing educators to create their own virtual field trips.
