Store Ezekiel Bread

A variety of grains are used to make Ezekiel bread.

Ezekiel brand bread is inspired by the passage from the Bible, in Ezekiel 4:9. This lists the grains and foods for making bread: wheat, barley, millet, beans, lentils and spelt. The fats in this whole grain bread make it more likely to become moldy if kept at room temperature, but freezing the bread increases the shelf life to up to three months. Commercial and bakery prepared versions of Ezekiel bread are available in health food and specialty stores in the freezer section. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

1. Remove the Ezekiel bread from its original packaging. Tightly wrap the loaf in aluminum foil.

2. Place the foil-wrapped bread into a resealable freezer bag. Squeeze excess air out of the bag and seal.

3. Freeze the Ezekiel bread for up to three months.

4. Remove the foil-wrapped bread from the freezer bag and place the frozen loaf into a preheated 350 degree Fahrenheit oven. Reheat the bread for 30 minutes or until soft and heated through.

5. Store excess bread in the refrigerator for up to a week.
