Instructions
1. Apply for a makeup counter job at a department store that sells MAC Cosmetics. Stores that sell MAC Cosmetics at the makeup counter include Macy's, Nordstrom's and Costco. Go to the store's customer service section and ask if you can fill out an application to work at the makeup counter. Some stores have an age limit, which is usually between 15 and 18.
2. Go to cosmetology school. MAC Cosmetics artists who work at MAC stores have a certificate from a licensed cosmetology school as well as certified classes in MAC Cosmetics directly. Take photos of makeup looks you have done and put them in a binder. This is your portfolio.
3. After you get your cosmetology certificate, call your local MAC Cosmetics store and ask if you can make an appointment to show the manager your work. Bring your portfolio and a resume detailing any related work you have done in the field. Bring your cosmetology certificate to show the manager that you are certified.
4. If you would rather sell MAC Cosmetics on your own schedule, you can purchase MAC Cosmetics on sale from department stores or bulk beauty supply stores and resell them on Ebay. You will need an Ebay account and a bank account in order to sell MAC Cosmetics on Ebay.
