Cook A Boneless Roast

Boneless pork roast is a main dish that is easy to prepare

Cooking a boneless pork roast does not require years of experience in a kitchen. You can get satisfying results by following a few simple steps. With a few common pantry ingredients and the willingness to get your hands dirty, you can have this roast on the table in no time. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Position the oven rack in the center.

2. Use a 2- to 3-pound pork roast, preferably with a layer of fat on one side. Position the roast on a flat surface with the layer of fat on top.

3. Choose your favorite dried spices for the pork roast rub and add them to a small bowl. Suggested spices include rosemary, oregano, sage, thyme and paprika.

4. Pour the olive oil into the bowl of spices and stir until combined. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to the mixture and stir.

5. Rub the spice mixture onto the roast, using your hands. Be sure to rub the spices into the top, bottom and sides of the roast. This will provide an even coating on the entire roast.

6. Place the roast with the fat layer on top and into the oven. Let the roast cook at 450 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes, or until it looks golden brown, then lower the oven temperature to 250 degrees. Cook for one to one-and-a-half hours, or until the meat thermometer displays 160 degrees.

7. Remove the roast from the oven. Cover it with tin foil and let it rest for at least 15 minutes. This allows the juices to evenly distribute throughout the meat. When it has rested, the roast is ready to be sliced and served.
