You will more than likely be required to fill out an application for credit, which must include other companies you have done wholesale business with in the past. Some companies will also ask for a company letterhead with your sales-tax reseller ID on it. And remember, wholesalers deal primarily with businesses and retailers, not with individual consumers.

Buying wholesale seafood is easiest when you can examine the product in person for freshness. With wholesale companies stretching the length of the Oregon coast, from Astoria to Brookings, it is easy to visit several seafood companies and select only the best products.

Oregon seafood companies do a brisk business online as well. As of 2006, 300 million pounds of Oregon seafood were distributed internationally each year. Websites for various seafood companies state specific requirements regarding order quantities and give information pertaining to their preferred method of shipping.
