Buy Quail Eggs

Buy Quail Eggs

Quail eggs were once considered a delicacy and have been eaten for thousands of years. Today they are becoming popular among people who do not like chicken eggs, in large part because they have lower bad cholesterol and more good cholesterol than chicken eggs. They are loaded with vitamins and trace minerals. And they are less allergenic than chicken eggs. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

1. First, find out what kind of quail eggs you want to purchase, because there is a large variety. Go to stores in your area that sell organic, free-range eggs and meat. Often they have a section with specialty foods, and you may be able to find quail eggs there, along with other delicacies not readily found in the supermarket, especially if the produce store is associated with or buys from a local farm.

2. Check your local farmers market. Also check your newspaper and its website for markets and specialty shops that sell quail eggs.

3. Look online for nearby farms that sell quail eggs. Bird farms and hatcheries can be found all over the state. Some in your state may specialize in the breeding and raising of quail birds.

4. If your online search for a nearby farm is unsuccessful, consider buying quail eggs and chicks online. Hatcheries such as the Lake Cumberland Game Farm in Kentucky have a variety of quails that lay eggs for purchase.
