Make Cheap Turkey Sliders

Tasty sliders need not cost a fortune.

A slider is a mini burger with the ground meat of our choice as the main ingredient. One recipe calling for turkey meat only takes about 10 minutes to prepare, 20 minutes to cook and makes 16 sliders at only 45 cents each, as of 2011. One serving is two sliders so you can feed eight people for only 90 cents each, making the total cost for the entire dinner only $7.20. This makes sliders a cheap sandwich for a children's party and many other types of gatherings.

Instructions

1. Get your ingredients. You will need 20 ozs. of lean ground turkey or any ground meat; 2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese; 1 clove of minced garlic or 1 teaspoon garlic from a jar; 1/2 teaspoon each of dried basil and oregano; 1 teaspoon salt; pepper to taste; and 16 dinner rolls or slider rolls, though any small type of roll will do.

2. Cook the patties. Combine the ground turkey, cheese and all seasonings. Mix together well. Shape mixture into 16 small patties. Place patties on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for eight to 10 minutes or until cooked through.

3. Make honey dijon mayo. You can buy honey dijon mayonnaise or you can save more and make your own. Simply mix 1/3 cup mayonnaise with 1 tablespoon honey dijon mustard.

4. Build your sliders. Put the meat patties on the rolls and top with the honey dijon mayo. You can also add other ingredients like lettuce, tomato, onion and more.
