Print Your Own Cookbook

Printing your own cookbook can be a lot of fun if you love to cook. Cookbooks are ideal for keeping recipes organized and all in one place. Homemade cookbooks also make thoughtful gifts for friends and family members who are constantly bugging you to give them the recipes for some of your best dishes. Making a cookbook full of their favorites and a few new ones that you think they might enjoy will put a smile on their faces and make them think of you every time they enjoy eating the food made from the recipes.

Instructions

1. Find an online cookbook template. Many printer and word processor Web sites offer free templates in a variety of themes for just about any holiday or occasion.

2. Take photos of all of the dishes for which you are including recipes. The best cookbooks show the reader what the finished dishes should look like via photos.

3. Type the recipes onto the cookbook template and then upload the corresponding photos. You may want to add an index if your cookbook template does not already include one. Proofread your work to make sure that it is clear, understandable and free of mistakes.

4. Ensure that your printer is on and stocked with high-quality paper. You could use normal printing paper, but choosing something with a bit more heft to it will make the finished product seem more professional.

5. Print the pages and collect them from the printer.

6. Put the front cover of the cookbook in the clear pocket at the front of the three-ring binder.

7. Punch holes in the interior pages of your cookbook and place them into the three-ring binder.

8. Place organizational three-ring binder tabs before the first page of each section of your cookbook. Consider sections for appetizers, salads, soups, main courses, desserts and so forth. The tabs will make finding specific recipes so much easier.

9. Page through the cookbook to ensure that everything is in order and that nothing is missing before using it or giving it away as a gift. If giving it as a gift, take a few moments to inscribe the front of the book with a special note for the gift recipient.
