Measure Stevia

Stevia is a naturally occurring sweetener with zero calories. It can be used to replace sugar in many beverages and foods and is safe for diabetics due to its low glycemic effects. It is a highly concentrated sweetener and cannot be used as a 1:1 replacement for sugar. Determining the right amount of stevia extract to use can be a bit tricky. This guide will help you determine how much stevia to use in place of regular sugar. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

1. Use a toothpick to scoop out stevia for use in beverages such as coffee or tea. The small head of a toothpick allows for the addition of stevia into the beverage in very tiny increments. Be sure to taste test your beverage after each small scoop.

2. Use one tsp. of stevia extract for every cup of sugar needed in a recipe.

3. Use one fourth tsp. of stevia extract for every tbsp. of sugar needed.

4. Use just a small pinch of stevia to substitute a tsp. of sugar.
