Lip gloss is an essential product to a number of women. Unfortunately, cosmetics can get expensive and some ingredients can irritate sensitive skin. With a few common household ingredients, you can create a personalized shiny lip gloss. Not only will the shade be the exact one you desire, but the price is also much more attractive as well. Instructions
Preparation
1. Clean a lip gloss pot with soap and water. Scrub to remove traces of old lip gloss.
2. Wipe the pot with rubbing alcohol to sanitize further.
3. Fill the lip gloss container with petroleum jelly to get the exact amount you will need to fill the pot.
4. Transfer the petroleum jelly into a clean, microwave safe bowl and heat in the microwave for 30 seconds, or until melted.
Making the Gloss
5. Pour a small amount of cocoa powder or flavored drink crystals into the melted petroleum jelly. Strawberry, raspberry and other berry flavors may produce the desired color and add flavor to the lip gloss. Alternatively, add cream blush to alter the color and cooking extract to flavor the lip gloss.
6. Stir the mixture thoroughly.
7. Add more cocoa powder or drink crystals to increase the color and flavor of the gloss.
8. Stir the mixture until all of the powder or crystals are incorporated.
9. Transfer the mixture to the clean lip gloss pot and allow it to cool completely.
