Portland Oregon Peruvian Restaurants

A taste of Peru can be found in Portland, Oregon.

Although Portland is thousands of miles from Peru, there are a number of popular restaurants in the Rose City that offer diners an authentic taste of Peruvian culture. Whether you crave coastal fare such as ceviche, the Spanish-influenced cuisine of Lima or heartier dishes from the Andes mountains, a single dining experience can transport you south of the border, no plane ticket or passport necessary. Buen provecho. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Limo Peruvian Restaurant

Named for a type of hot red chili pepper, Limo Peruvian Restaurant is a cozy eatery set in the trendy northwest section of the city. The menu boasts seven types of ceviche as well as poultry, beef, seafood and pasta dishes. Some options are vegetarian. Limo is open every day for dinner and also serves lunch on weekdays. Happy hour runs 90 minutes Monday through Saturday and all day Sunday. Peruvian brunch is served during a four-hour window on Sundays.

Andina Restaurant

Located in the heart of the Pearl District, Portland's beloved Andina Restaurant was named Restaurant of the Year in 2005 by The Oregonian newspaper. The native Peruvian staff creates tasty and authentic seafood, chicken, pork and lamb dishes. There are also dedicated vegetarian and gluten-free menus, and the sizeable lists of beverages, appetizers and desserts will leave you spoiled for choices. Andina serves lunch and dinner seven days a week. Tapas are available after 4 p.m. and a two-hour happy hour is offered daily.

Nasca Peruvian Cuisine

A tiny family establishment in the Hollywood neighborhood in northeast Portland, Nasca Peruvian Cuisine offers a cozy dining area and an informal atmosphere. The restaurant's small size means more limited choices than Portland's larger and more upscale Peruvian restaurants; however, loyal Nasca patrons swear the ceviche is some of the best they've ever tasted. The regular menu offers seven appetizers and seven entrees. The dishes are mostly chicken or beef, with a few vegetarian options. A small dessert menu and a handful of beverage options round out the Nasca dining experience.
