Market Soft Drinks

Market Soft Drinks

Soft drinks are heavily-marketed items. Whether you are a salesman trying to sell more soft drinks, or a company starting out and wanting to introduce a new soft drink to the market, the strategy and goals are the same: Identify the market interested in your product and advertise. You want to make the highest profit possible, and for that to happen, you need to set a price, and decide an amount of drinks to be sold. For further specifics, you will have to do a market study, but having a general idea of your market is a must.

Instructions

1. Obtain data on the market you are trying to reach. Useful data would include preferred brands of soft drinks, typical consumers, and points-of-sale. You could start your own study and find this data by polling people. Another way is looking into the past year's information in industry publications at your local library. Information that is less than two years old is usually just as good as the current, just not as precise.

2. Analyze the data and try to work your strategy around it. That is, if you find that most of the consumers of soft drinks in your area are working males ages 30 to 35, then advertising at a local 7-Eleven could be a good idea. You really need determine what places are most frequented by your target public, and advertise heavily to them.

3. Determine the contents and design of your advertisement. You can hire a designer, or you can use your creativity to develop a poster image for your product. Fliers, posters, emails and web page publications are good ways to advertise. A great idea is to upload a picture of your product on Facebook and MySpace, and tag all your friends so they will have to see what you are advertising.

4. Talk about your product with your friends and other people you meet. Family reunions are also great opportunities to market your product.

5. Market your product directly to children. You should know that in the U.S. alone, children spend over 2.3 million dollars from their discretionary money on soft drinks.
