Italian Cooking Schools In Tuscany

Italians know enjoy life and fine food.

Each year many people combine vacations with food and attend cooking schools around the world. Add any part of Italy into the mix and you have the makings for a fabulous vacation while you learn to make some of the most celebrated food in the world. Cooking schools abound in Tuscany, from those conducted for professional chefs, to small villa kitchens that will arrange classes for their guests. Italians know live and eat well and are anxious to share their knowledge with their students. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Good Tastes of Tuscany

The Good Tastes of Tuscany Cooking Class offers a full day in their original gallery kitchen in the 13th century Villa Pandolfini, with hands-on instruction with one of their professional Italian chefs. They also offer wine courses, again in their villa, in the Italian Chianti region, just a few kilometers away from Florence. Both classes are available for English speaking students.

Locanda Casanuova

Located in Thierry's vineyard, the villa teaches authentic Tuscan cooking.

"La Bellezza della Semplicita", or loosely translated, the Beauty of Simplicity, has been the motto of the Locanda Casanuova for 25 years. Simplicity in surroundings without luxury, but with just those pleasantries that help you relax in natural surroundings in one of the most beautiful holiday regions in the heart of Tuscany. Located just a few minutes drive outside of Figline Valdarno, in the midst of its working vineyard, Thierry and Ulla offer their guests comfort while spoiling them with authentic Tuscan cuisine.

While organized cooking classes are not a scheduled event at Locanda Casanuova, the staff will work with groups that desire to participate in fun, informal classes around the huge marble-topped table located in their kitchen. Arrangements, including size of class, should be made in advance. Students learn from the women of the surrounding villages, who prepare all of the villa’s meals. Reservations may be made online.
