2. You can use your talents or skills, or just what you know to create an e-book. It could be about cooking, crafts, budgeting, finance, art, raising pets, teaching, etc. Anyone can come up with a good subject to write about and develop a timely e-book to sell online. Once you have your topic, sit down and write it in a Microsoft Word , Publisher, or Word Perfect application.

3. On the internet, there are three kinds of e-books. The most popular is a general subject e-book that is developed along with someone who has already published a book and wants to create another outlet for his published work, so he turns his book into e-book form. The second form of e-book is a branded e-book, an e-book that is branded by the owner is usually given out free to increase his sales and has his ownership rights included, which means you must ask him for permission to use or sell his e-book.

4. The branded e-book has multiple online links included to lead the reader back to the owner's websites for additional selling position. Another form of e-book is the Resell Rights E-book, which is an e-book which you have purchased the right to from the owner so you can sell it for profit or other online use. You can search the internet for other reseller rights products.

5. Once you have written your book, you can use Adobe Acrobat Distiller or go to Adobe.com to create a PDF file for your ebook. There are also other PDF applications you can find online, to set up PDF files. Make sure you have designed a document template that makes it easy to view your e-book in Acrobat Reader.

6. When designing an e-book, it's a good idea to use a smaller page size, even though when it prints on the PDF file, it will print full size at 8 1/2 x 11. Try using a 6 by 9 page size to begin with and use adequate margins on all sides to reduce text on each page. Choose fonts that are simple and easy to read and at least 12 point size.

7. Since there is no additional cost to add color, you can use colorful images to headings and captions, along with your own choice of artwork. You can add security options to your e-book in Acrobat Distiller or other PDF applications. Follow instructions to setup your PDF File in Adobe Distiller or go to Adobe for free PDF files.

8. Set up a website and your own domain name so you can sell your e-book. Design the site with additional information and hot selling points for your new e-book. Now, you are on your way to making profits with your new e-book.
