Get Rid Of Cockroaches & Their Eggs

Cockroaches enter the home in search of food and water.

Cockroaches enter the home through cracks in the foundation or gaps around windows and doorways. Once they're in, they search for food and water sources and set up residence. When the availability of food and water is high, cockroaches build a nest and quickly multiply. Getting rid of roaches and their eggs is vital to preventing ongoing infestation. A combination of cleaning and extermination procedures helps you get rid of cockroach infestations successfully, as just using chemical intervention is not enough to permanently eliminate the insects. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Keeping your home clean is instrumental to getting rid of cockroaches and eggs.

Vacuum the floor and carpets in your home, as well as inside cabinets and cupboards to remove crumbs, dirt and other cockroach-attracting substances. This also removes eggs and cockroach skins that cause allergy and asthma problems.

2. Mix 2 caps full of disinfectant cleaner and 1 gallon hot water in a bucket. Wash surfaces such as walls, cabinets, countertops, appliances and floors to clean and sanitize them. Dry these surfaces with clean cloths, if needed or allow them to air dry.

3. Prevent roaches from entering the home by sealing cracks and crevices.

Caulk cracks and gaps in the foundation and around doorways and windows. Seal gaps around piping with caulk or duct tape to close off easy entryways for cockroaches.

4. Stir together 1/4 cup shortening, 1/8 cup sugar, 1 cup boric acid and 1/2 cup flour. Add just enough water to make soft dough balls with the ingredients.

5. Spoon one ball of roach bait into each empty, clean yogurt container. Place the yogurt containers behind appliances, inside and on top of cabinets and anywhere else roaches have been spotted. As roaches eat the boric acid bait and share it with the rest of the colony, the toxic bait will slowly kill them off.

6. Spray commercial roach spray along baseboards and the foundation to kill roaches, nymphs or eggs residing, entering and exiting the home in these areas. Allow the spray to dry and reapply every few days until the infestation is gone.
