Cook Soft Chicken For Toddlers

Keep you little princess from choking on chewy chicken and cook it until the meat is soft.

Tough chicken not only tastes bad, but it can be a choking hazard for toddlers. To avoid an emergency, cook your chicken without the skin until it is soft enough for the child to eat safely. There are three ways to simply cook the chicken throughout while reaching the soft texture your toddler needs. Choose baking, steaming or poaching the chicken based on your toddler's preference

Instructions

Steam

1. Place a vegetable steamer in the bottom of the saucepan.

2. Add water to the pan to fill at least the bottom 2 inches without touching the bottom of the steamer.

3. Bring the pot to a boil over medium-high heat.

4. Cube the boneless, skinless chicken breast or thigh.

5. Add the chicken to the steamer basket and cover the pan.

6. Steam the chicken for five to seven minutes or until you no longer see pink and the meat is soft and tender.

Poach

7. Bring a saucepan half-filled with water to a boil over medium-high heat.

8. Add the chicken and cover the pot.

9. Reduce the heat to medium-low so the water simmers, and poach the chicken for 30 minutes or until there is no more pink and the meat is soft.

Bake

10. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

11. Place the chicken into a baking pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray.

12. Cover the pan with aluminum foil.

13. Bake the chicken for 30 to 40 minutes or until thoroughly cooked and soft.
