Get Ebt Processing In South Carolina

The South Carolina SNAP card works just like a debit card.

South Carolina offers financially suffering residents the option to apply for food stamps using the South Carolina Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. As a recipient of SNAP benefits you are given an Electronic Benefits Transfer card, which looks and works like a debit card. Each month the state places funds on your card to pay for your groceries. When you go grocery shopping, you need to make sure that the grocery store you are shopping in processes EBT cards.

Instructions

1. Go to your local grocery store and look for the "QUEST" logo on its doors or windows. This logo will be in the same place as the major credit card logos that the store accepts. If the "QUEST" logo is not displayed, the store does not process EBT cards and you should go elsewhere to shop.

2. Slide your card through the credit card machine when you pay for your purchases. Select the EBT option on the credit card machine and enter your PIN. Your PIN is a four-digit number you created by calling the number on the back of your card when you began receiving your EBT benefits. Your card is processed by electronically checking the funds available and either approving or denying your transaction based on the balance of your card.

3. Accept your receipt from the clerk and keep it in a safe place. The receipt indicates your remaining balance so you know how much you have left in benefits on your card next time you need to shop.
